Homeland Insecurity

One wonders why we’re surprised that Janet Napolitano is playing politics with the Homeland Security slush stimulus funds.

If you modernize the checkpoints that are actually used, you might actually do something to improve border security, thus ticking off the illegal immigrant lobby.

It’s also not much of a surpise that the administration is deliberately keeping their construction plans hidden from the public - it might reveal some inconvenient truths about where the money was going.

Politicians always treat tax money as their personal piggy bank to enrich themselves and their supporters. If any actual good happens as a result, it’s usually a product of coincidence.

$15 million for a border crossing in Whitepoint, Montana that has about 3 travelers per day, all at the insistence of politicians.

Just wait till they start making investment decisions on healthcare.
