Spies at State

I Blame George Bush!

'I have become so bitter these past few months. Watching the evening news is a radicalizing experience,' he wrote in his diary ..., referring to what he described as greedy U.S. oil companies, inadequate health care and 'the utter complacency of the oppressed' in America. On a trip to Cuba, federal law enforcement officials said in legal filings, Myers found a new inspiration: the communist revolution.”

Oh wait, he wrote that in 1978, when the Carter Presidency was just unveiling the bungling, clueless form that lead to the installation of the mad mullahs in Iran, communist insurgencies through out Central America, and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan.

Certainly, this is enough to embitter anyone, but Myer's seems to be upset that President Carter didn't go far enough.

Frankly, for all of his prep school background and PhD from Johns Hopkins, Myers seems like a pretty dim bulb. It's no surprise that the State Department is completely ineffective when it's populated by people who are upset about the “complacency of the oppressed” in America, but embrace Cuba, where under the Stalinist Castro regime the oppressed either keep their heads down and lips buttoned, or they wind up in prison camps.

I'm sure that once the dust has settled, these old traitors will get off, either by playing the sympathy for old, ,disgruntled idealists, who only Sought A Better Way. The fact that their better way has lead to the deaths of tens of millions in Russia, China, Cambodia, Viet Nam, Cuba, and elsewhere will be of little moment to a soft hearted jury.
