Unsurprisingly, they’re acting like it. Good work if you can get it; moat cleaning, porn videos, house flipping, maid service, and all on the taxpayer’s dime (Pence? Pound? Shilling?). We already know that the EU Parliament is every bit as bad on this sort of thing.
More members seem to be upset with the Telegraph for blowing the whistle than with the actual cheating of the public. This too, is a common political disease.
Politicians and bureaucrats are just as greedy, grasping, and self-serving as anyone else, including even the reviled shop owner, banker, or Wall Street Insider.
But they are always more dishonest about it, and often have the power and connections to eliminate the consequences of their dishonesty.
So why are we so eager to concentrate more power over the economy, environment, and healthcare to these kinds of people?
