Fort Island Park

Not quite spring, but getting closer. Very little green in evidence, but lots of fallen timber. Well, it is a swamp. Or rather, a combination of marsh and the peat bogs that the area west of Akron is famous for.

The only thing blooming yet seems to be moss.

Here's a detail of the flowers. (Spores? probably, but sounds a bit too much like a bad sci-fi theme)

And a fallen (beech?) tree.

Photos taken on Boring Daughter #3's Canon A470. Not a bad little camera (cost has fallen to under $100), but there's no viewfinder, so you're stuck trying to use the LCD in bright sunlight.
