Update: William “Freezer” Jefferson

Booted from Congress. Like just about everyone else, I assumed that he’d been re-elected last month, in spite of more than a passing appearance of corruption.

Still, Freezer does have a trial date in early 2009 to look forward to.

Congratulations to Mr. Cao, the first Vietnamese American in Congress. One would hope that Mr. Cao’s story - having fled Vietnam, and with a father in a wheelchair courtesy of 7 years in a communist prison camp – would give the Congress’ appeasement caucus pause, but that’s probably an idle daydream.
