Dissin’ Community Organizers*

Jim Gehraty does it. Sarah Palin does it. James Taranto does it.

But here at the Boring Made Dull, we were dissinthese folk before it was cool.

Is there anything more worthless than the paid agitators of the ACORN / Al Sharpton / Jesse Jackson / Jeremiah Wright stamp? About the best you can hope for is that they don’t drive businesses away and make life worse.

Every day, thousands of people go to work to make their communities better. They’re called plumbers, electricians, teachers, firemen, ministers, policemen, soldiers, sailors, tailors, doctors, trash haulers, accountants, shopkeepers, custodians, mechanics, bakers, computer programmers, and a thousand other job titles. Even, I suppose, lawyers.

They go to work without the spotlight and rent a mobs that the Sharptons and Jacksons require. And they make life better for themselves, their families, and their neighborhoods.

America needs less “organization” and more spontaneous order.

*Does anybody say “dissin’” anymore? Thought not…
