Venezuela in Crisis

Things must be pretty bad if the dictator Chavez has to threaten war with Colombia over killing some narco terrorists in Equador. I can understand that Equador is not happy – after all, the terrorists were killed on their territory.

That Chavez would side with FARC is not surprising – he’s probably providing arms and funding for them.

His gamble is that the US won’t intervene in his efforts to destabilize South America. Indeed, he’s probably thinking that Nancy Pelosi will fly in for tea soon. Indeed, he's probably right - there's likely to be little support for any sort of intervention on the part of the US.
