Coughlin v Arshinkoff, the Brunner Factor, Part I

For the most part, I don’t believe that the Ohio Democratic Party, at any particular level, cares much if Arshinkoff stays or goes. But they do care to prolong the turmoil in the Summit County GOP as long as possible, if only for the entertainment value.

If Arshinkoff stays, he's likely to continue to wander the paths of irrelevance, vindictiveness, and hopes of scoring some petty patronage jobs for his friends, and continued expensive dinners and drinks at Portage Country Club. If he loses, whoever Team Coughlin puts in may or may not be any better, and even if they are, it will take years to rebuild the party.

Which is why Jennifer Brunner probably indulged in quiet smirk as she put three Team Coughlin members on the ballot.
