Corruption at the World Bank

Well, that’s a shock. Who would have expected that an organization dedicated to funneling money to bureaucrats would be busy aiding and abetting corruption? Well, only those with some knowledge of what complete lack of accountability combined with large sums of money does to the human character.

One wonders how much of the wasted funds were funneled back to the bank’s staff? Or did they just go along with whatever they were told just to keep the gravy train flowing?

I’m not sure if the fact that either the bank was too stupid and careless to worry about corruption, or if they were in on the kickback action, is worse.

But, like most major bureaucratic institutions, they’ll band together to kill the messenger.

The World Bank is a bad idea whose time never should have come.
