The Bloomberg Boomlet

Swells to 12 people – all former nondescript senators and assorted barnicles (well, with the possible exception of Sam Nunn, who at least doesn't qualify as 'nondescript').

The MSM has to be hoping for a Bloomberg run, for two reasons: a) it provides a chance to promote liberalism as ‘non-partisan’, and b) probably most importantly, a Bloomberg run likely means hundreds of millions of dollars in ad buys. There’s a lot of money to be made for getting another horse into the race.

Campaign managers and pollsters are also on standby alert.
