Yahoo Cuts a Deal

Over the human rights activists they’ve helped the Chinese send to the Gulag.

If I was one of these family members, I’d have a tough time settling with a company that sent my relatives up the river for a few Yuan. I don’t see any information here that anyone has been released as part of this settlement, nor do I see that Yahoo has agreed not to cooperate with the Chinese in their campaign to jail dissidents.

On the lying to Congress bit, it’s certainly of a piece with their efforts in China. I would imagine that even a Yahoo executive would feel queasy at the prospect of admitting to the world that they’re cooperating to send human rights activists off to labor camps for a larger quarterly bonus.

Back to business as usual.
