Akron Issue 17 – City Income Tax Increase Fails

By about 2-1. Certainly, getting to keep more of what you make is good news for the Akron taxpayer.

Lots of factors as work here – the size of the increase (about 15%), we just had 12.5% increase in city income tax rates two years ago, and the Mayor’s frank insistence that we aren’t taxed enough (with the implication that he knows hot to better spend your money than you do), and the fact that local levies are the only ones where taxpayers actually get to have a say in the outcome.
