Down the Memory Hole

Tom Blumer catches our new Governor, Ted Strickland, purging his website of his plans for education funding reform.

Lessee, you run for governor. Education funding is a big issue. Everybody knows this. You make it part of your campaign. You win the election, and now it’s time to submit your first two year budget. Naturally, you include implementing your plan for education funding reform, right? After all, governor is only a 4 year term, so you need to get busy. Right? Public education is important, right?

Guess not. If you’re Ted Strickland, now that the election is over, it’s time to sweep the issue under the rug.

From a conservative point of view, that’s probably best. Anything recommended by Strickland is only likely to make public education worse, and Ohioans poorer.
