Well, Prof. Dershowitz, tell us what you really think. Read the whole thing; Prof. Dershowitz doesn’t pull punches or indulge in much finesse. It’s almost like he was fishing for Carter to file a libel suit or something.
If the funding accusations are true, it certainly casts a pall on Carter’s honesty. In the end, all Mr. Carter had left to peddle was his folksy country boy preacher schtick. Nobody certainly looked to him for advice on economic policy or foreign relations (leastaways, not after the Clinton Administration got suckered by Carter over North Korea). Even his Nobel Prize was due to endless lobbying as well as willingness to sell out the interests of both America and opressed Iraqis to preserve a brutal dictatorship.
