Stupid Sports Moves

From, of course, the Pittsburgh Pirates. The news today: They are dropping KDKA in favor of some FM station. Ending a 50 year relationship… because they don’t think that the desired demographic is bright enough to find KDKA on the dial. Apparently, however, they are bright enough to stay away from the abysmal product that Mr. McClatchy markets year after year as a ‘professional’ baseball team.

Can’t put a winning team on the field, and essentially abandons a regional audience for one tightly focused on the Pittsburgh area.

Well, I suppose there aren’t a lot of people coming to Pirates games from further out that Beaver Falls. Or for that matter, coming to Pirates games period.

As far as Mr. McClatchy is concerned, the clue meter still reads zero.
