The Effect of American Protectionism on Poor Nations

Or for that matter, on poor Americans. But it’s especially galling for Senator Obama to essentially tell the Kenyans that it’s part of his job to make sure that they are forced to ride in the back of the economic development bus.

Especially since lower tariffs would likely mean an increase in the standard of living for the poor and middle class in this country as well, combined with the side benefits of lower taxes and government intervention, less corporate welfare, and improving the environment.
