If You Want to be a Republican

Denny Hastert doesn’t make it easy.

Memo to Denny: Covering up for Freezer Jefferson is perceived as covering up for corruption, because that’s what it is. In theory, a party believing in limited government and the sovereignty of the people would take a less imperial attitude.

In the scheme of three co-equal branches of government, when the executive and the courts agree, there’s no constitutional crisis associated with searching the offices of some one like “Representative” Jefferson.
